Born in Harrow, England, Graham Fransella studied at the Bradford School of Art, Yorkshire. He came to Australia in 1975.

A leading printmaker, there is often a strong element of whimsy and humour in Graham Fransella's work which shows finely balanced composition. A continuous theme has been a singular-line sihouetted head as a symbol of observer or explorer in the landscape set against reds, ochre and yellow backgrounds.

Fransella has been exhibiting as a solo artist since 1978 and has been shown in over 40 exhibitions throughout Australia as well as London and Cologne. His work resides in private and public collections in Australia and oversaea.

Graham has won several awards including the Wynne Trustees Watercolour Prize four times.
