Ochre and Ink wins in Bali

November 7, 2012

The James Bradley directed documentary Ochre and Ink about the life of Chinese Australian artist Zhou Xiaoping picked up yet another award late last month.

The Balinale International Film Festival, held from October 22-28, invited filmmakers from around the world to present their films and offers awards in four categories - all voted on by the audience. Ochre and Ink won Best Documentary while locally made film Lovely Man picked up the awards for Best Feature and Best Overall Film. Argentinian film Luminaris won Best Short.

The Festival has enjoyed considerable success since it was established in 2007 to provide a platform for Indonesians to showcase their films to an international audience and invite foreign filmmakers to screen their films while contributing to workshops and seminars in the hopes of discovering new talent.

Regional and domestic advisors and speakers include Oscar, Emmy, BAFTA and Cannes award winning filmmakers who have generously contributed to the program over the years.
